『ディックトレイシー』はSega Technical Instituteが開発したセガ・メガドライブおよびセガ・マスターシステム用アクションゲームである。1990年の同名映画を題材とし、セガは日米混成チームにわずか5か月の開発期間を与えた。本作はスタジオの最初のプロジェクトとなり、ウォーレン・ベイティやマドンナ、アル・パチーノらの映画スターから肖像使用許可を取得するなどの努力が払われた。しかし発売は1991年2月にずれ込み、映画の劇場公開から9か月、ホームビデオリリースから3か月後のことになった。残念ながらゲームは総じて不評を受け、売上も低迷することになった。
Overview
Dick Tracy (ディックトレイシー) is a Sega Mega Drive and Sega Master System action game developed by Sega Technical Institute. Based on the 1990 film of the same name, Sega gave the mixed Japanese-American team only five months to complete development, with the game being the studio's first project. Despite efforts that included securing likeness approvals from the film’s stars (such as Warren Beatty, Madonna, and Al Pacino), the game would not be released until February 1991, nine months after the film’s theatrical run and three months after the home video release.
